“Wildwood 2020”

Mayor Bowlin announced his vision plan for the City of Wildwood during the City Council Work Session held on Monday, October 9, 2017.  The plan was developed based on input from residents and other stakeholders, and calls for improving residential experience and a renewed focus on the City’s original plans, said Mayor Bowlin.

“I’m very committed to things that benefit our residents and businesses, and there’s so much we can do to make Wildwood even better for them. My plan incorporates ways to make that happen with optimal cost efficiency,” said the Mayor. The plan includes several proposed projects that will benefit residents in all eight wards, along with implementation guidelines that include resident participation and input.

Wildwood Historical Society

The City of Wildwood and the Wildwood Historical Society are writing the history of Wildwood. This EFFORT is an amazing and prestigious project. We are telling the history through the stories and pictures of the families. The 2017 Edition of this project brought us up to 1859, just prior to the Civil War. The 2018 Edition, the next chapter in this planned book, covers 1860 to 1919.

And this is where we need your help. We are requesting your family’s stories and scans of those precious photographs and documents covering our 1860 to 1919 time period – basically from the Civil War through WWI.

Please contact Jill VonGruben of the Wildwood Historical Society, at with any questions or submissions you may have regarding this exciting effort.

High-Speed Internet to the Rural Areas of Wildwood

The City's Rural Internet Access Committee (RIAC) met on April 5, 2018 and discussed the progress the two (2) providers that currently offer high-speed internet access service to the rural areas of Wildwood have made over the past few months. These providers, Bays ET and Wisper ISP, are both actively adding new capacity and increasing speeds to their respective networks. Concrete Slab Replacement Program
is Underway in Wildwood for 2018

Since the inception of the City in 1995, the City has always spent much of the spring and summer months improving many of the roadways you use in Wildwood. 2018 will not be an exception. This year has a full slate of improvements, including concrete slab replacement in many of the City's residential subdivisions. The subdivisions to be impacted by this program for the 2018 Construction Season include the following: Pond-Grover Loop Road, Hickory Manor, Westglen Farms, Winding Trails, Shadowridge, Chesterfield Valley, Prestwick Place, Harbors at Lake Chesterfield, Westridge Oaks, and Lafayette Trails. The work began in March and will carry forward until late June/Early July 2018. The order of the named subdivisions that are provided above is chronological, meaning Wildhorse Subdivision will be the first area to have work underway, with Lafayette Trails ending the program in mid-summer.
