The Coffee is held in the Community Room, at City Hall, but if you prefer to participate from your home, via a virtual option, Zoom, is also available.

Back-to-School - Donations of School Supplies

St. Louis County Police Department - Wildwood Precinct 

The St. Louis County Police Department's Community Outreach Unit is collecting back-to-school supplies to be distributed to local students. While you're doing your back-to-school shopping this year, pick up a few extra supplies for the kids in our community! Supplies can be dropped off at the Wildwood Precinct of the St. Louis County Police Department, which is located at Wildwood City Hall, 16860 Main Street (63040). Just look for the blue bin in the entry area into City Hall, off Main Street! Thank you for your help!

Every Saturday, through October 1, 2022, you can get your fresh, locally grown and raised produce, meat, eggs, and more at the Wildwood Farmers Market! Historic Route 66 Corridor --- Wildwood, Missouri

Did you know that Manchester Road in Wildwood is part of the original Route 66?  Route 66, a highway corridor created in 1926, as a major connection to the West, is affectionately known as the “Mother Road” and “The Main Street of America.” The highway gave birth to many small towns, inns, Mom and Pop stores, and other roadside attractions, and has since been memorialized in pop culture. There are many famously recognizable signs along the route today.

The City's Historic Preservation Commission is proposing to establish a Historic Route 66 Roadside Park, as a tribute to this legacy on a half-acre parcel of ground acquired by the City in 2019, which is in the core of Town Center, at the southeastern corner of Grover Crossing Drive and Manchester Road. This park is proposed to serve as a heritage site, a trailhead facility for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists, and a community-gathering place for celebrations.

SWT Design, a landscape architectural firm, has been selected to develop potential design concepts for the site, utilizing in part, intensive public input and participation of interested stakeholders. The City is actively engaging our area students, residents, business owners, property owners, and cyclists, as well as our statewide Route 66 aficionados, to develop a vision for the site. The whole community is invited to be a part of creating this defining asset for Wildwood’s historic Route 66.

Tree Preservation and Management Practices in Wildwood

With Spring now here, many property owners are out in their yards/lots and doing clean-up and new plantings. If you are removing a tree or trees, the City does have regulations to protect "grand" types. These trees are those types that have grown to significant sizes. To ensure that a "Grand" tree is not removed, before inspection, the City asks that the property owner contact the Department of Planning and arrange a same or next-day inspection and authorization. It's easy and quick! You can contact the Department of Planning at (636) 458-0440 to set up that site visit. Thank you for your cooperation!

Ash Tree Removals - Medium Priority Locations

Omni Tree Service has completed the medium priority Ash tree removals. This contractor will now follow with stump removals and should be complete in the next few of weeks.

Low priority Ash Tree removals are now beginning and such will occur in the following locations:

State Rights-of-Way from Coffee with Mayor

State Route 100 and State Route 109 are maintained by the Missouri Department of Transportation. These roadways are key arterial in the City of Wildwood and carry high volumes of traffic. If you see a problem or maintenance need along them, the Missouri Department of Transportation has a "Report a Road Concern" link that works very well. Biking and Walking Benefits Program in Wildwood

The City of Wildwood has an exciting program that creates new and additional traffic for local businesses, while continuing to promote an active, healthy lifestyle for the community. Biking and Walking Benefits is a year-round national program in more than 100 communities across the United States that promotes active mobility through discounts/rewards to cyclists and walkers that visit local businesses. 

 
The program is very simple - individuals purchase a $5.00 helmet sticker from participating businesses and after biking or walking to a participating business, present the sticker to receive their discount/reward. If you already have a sticker from another community, just present it at a participating Wildwood business, and be sure to use your sticker to receive discounts at other area businesses. 
 
Lauren Edens, Ward 2 Council Member and the Chair of the Economic Development Committee of the Wildwood City Council, said, “this program fits perfectly with our culture and outdoor infrastructure, including our extensive trail and sidewalk network. We hope that the initial list of 10 businesses grows with more communications and outreach.”

Welcome to Wildwood, Missouri

Wildwood, Missouri is a unique, progressive community that is set in a magnificent natural environment, which features dense woodlands, rolling hills, beautiful valleys, lush meadows ,and crystal clear streams. 

Located in West St. Louis County, just a 30 minute drive from downtown St. Louis, Wildwood is a historic community dedicated to its Master Plan, which provides for the preservation of its rural areas, while offering opportunities for residential and commercial growth. State, County and City Parks cover over 11 of the 68 square miles that forms Wildwood's municipal boundaries. The City is served by the AAA-rated Rockwood School District, St. Louis Community College at Wildwood, and has numerous recreational options as well, including an extensive trail and bikeway system, a popular snow ski/tubing and zipline resort, and a prominent equestrian community.

Wildwood incorporated on September 1, 1995; however, the community’s remarkable history does not begin there, The long and rich history of the local settlements has defined this area for many generations. The early settlements of Centaur, Fox Creek, Glencoe, Grover, Hollow, Kelpe, Melrose, Monarch, Orrville, Pond and Westland Acres continue to be discoverable today. Markers provide a brief historicity of these areas for adventurers intrigued by the past. Beyond these unique settlements, the ever-popular Historic Route 66 thoroughfare (now called Manchester Road) bisects Wildwood’s north from south, directly through the heart of the town center. This portion of Route 66 is the original location of the byway, dating back to the early 1930s.  Come on out and take a nostalgic ride down old Route 66, and stay awhile and enjoy all the exciting things to do in Wildwood.

Celebrate Wildwood - The City's Annual Celebration
SEPTEMBER 24, 2022 - Only 6 Weeks Away

Mark your calendars!  Celebrate Wildwood is scheduled for September 24, 2022. Be sure and stay up to date on the event here: Celebrate Wildwood in 2022. This year's theme is "Explore Wildwood".

Celebrate Wildwood - Everybody Loves a Parade!

The Celebrate Wildwood Parade will be in full force this year! The theme for 2022 Parade is "Route 66 - Then and Now!" The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. in the parking lot area of Schnucks Wildwood Crossing. The route turns west onto Manchester Road to the Taylor Road Roundabout, then north on Taylor Road, to Main Street, and then west to its end at Eastgate Lane. Celebrate Wildwood - Great Music!

This year's Celebrate Wildwood Event will have great music all day! Storybook Walk in Community Park

Bring your kids and enjoy a walk around Community Park, while reading the newest story along the trail "Summer is Here!” The walk consists of seventeen (17) stations and starts to the right of Buddy’s Place Dog Park in Community Park. The book selections are suitable for all ages, even adults, and the walk will provide you a mile's worth of steps toward your daily goal!  Stay cool and enjoy!  

LAFAYETTE OLDER ADULTS PROGRAM
Programming will Start Up Again in September 2022

If you are at least 55 years old, this program is a great way to become involved! The Lafayette Older Adults Program consists of a total of six (6) municipalities and two (2) school districts that partner together to make this program a wonderful success. They include Ballwin, Chesterfield, Ellisville, Manchester, Parkway School District, Rockwood School District, Wildwood, and Winchester. SENIOR YOGA CLASS ... THE DETAILS

You can now attend these sessions in-person, but they will also be accessible online from the comfort of your own home. You must register one (1) day in advance of the class date and choose to attend either in person or online (not both). 

In-person classes will be held at Wildwood Yoga and Wellness’s new location at 2642 Highway 109, Suite B, in Wildwood. On-line Classes will be held via zoom, further instructions will be e-mailed to you, if attending online.

These classes are FREE for Wildwood residents, and only $5.00 for non-residents, age 60+!

Tuesday’s Class: Senior Chair Yoga (Restore Practice)

Using a chair or a completely supported posture, this practice will target mobility and flexibility of both the body and the mind.  With a strong focus on the breath and gentle movement, this practice will explore qualities of a restorative (restful) practice, a yin (longer-holding) practice, and yoga Nidra (guided meditation).
 
Friday’s Class: Senior Slow Flow Yoga

A meditative flow based on a steady, rhythmic breath, and traditional yoga postures.  The flow will incorporate mindful, smooth transitions and holds designed to open the body and the mind. This practice will build strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, and confidence and is ideal for practitioners that are comfortable standing.

Run Circles Around Hunger 5K

Living Word Church - October 8, 2022

Strap on your sneakers to Run Circles Around Hunger with Circle of Concern and Living Word Church on October 8, 2022. The 5K will be held at Living Word Church, Check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. T-shirt provided to the first 200 registrants. All skill levels from competitive to casual are invited to participate in this fun event. Awards will be given for each category.

Trailnet Rides in 2022

Trailnet recently announced its 2022 Community Rides' schedule and registration is now open for them!

Join us for a community ride this season!

A community ride is a guided, slow-paced, group bike ride that explores the history and culture of the St. Louis Community. It’s like a walking tour, but on bike instead of on foot. Each Community Ride is created in collaboration with community partners to create rich educational experiences!

The Community Rides are free for Trailnet members.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 - Ride through St. Louis’s rich architectural heritage with Amanda Clark from the Missouri Historical Society. We will visit well-known landmarks and visit hidden treasures throughout the city, as well as learn about the people and moments that made our city so special.

This guided group bike ride takes place on city streets, at a slow pace for people of all comfort levels.

Available at City Hall - Main Street Level - Lobby Area

Bring your expired/unused prescription medications to City Hall during normal business hours (Monday through Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and deposit them in the take-back box. There is no need for any assistance from the police. This easy and safe approach keeps old or unused medications from the environment and out of the hands of children.

American Flag Disposal 
Service is for Wildwood Residents and Businesses Only

The City of Wildwood accepts retired American flags for dignified disposal. Please bring worn flags to City Hall, 16860 Main Street, and leave them with the receptionist. All flags collected will be relinquished to the Boy Scouts of America for proper disposal. US Flags should never be placed in the trash.
