On April 5, 2022, Wildwood residents will decide on a proposed amendment to the City Charter of the City of Wildwood. Currently, the City Charter requires City Council meetings start no earlier than 7:00 p.m. This can be an inconvenience to some residents where there is no ability to accommodate their schedules. Proposition I would allow for flexibility in start times for City Council meetings.
Proposition One will ask voters whether subsection (a) of Section 3.8 of the City Charter of the City of Wildwood shall be amended to allow the City Council to establish start times for Regular Meetings as set forth in Section Two of City Ordinance #2598.
The proposed amendment to Section 3.8(a) shall read as follows:
Section 3.8. Legislative Proceedings.
(a) Regular Meetings. The City Council shall meet regularly at least once each month at 7:00 p.m. or at such time and place as the Council may prescribe by rule. The Council may also hold additional regular meetings and work sessions at such time and place as the Council may prescribe. In no event shall regular meetings of the Council be held outside the City limits. Notice of regular meetings shall be posted at the City Hall. All regular meetings of the Council shall be public meetings at which the Council shall provide for public comments, unless public access has been restricted pursuant to law.
Ordinance #2598 will be available at all St. Louis County voting precincts by scanning a QR code. The Ordinance can also be found on the City's website and by clicking this link: https://mo-wildwood.civicplus.com/DocumentCenter/View/7503/Ordinance-2598---Proposition-1-
