Beginning Friday, April 19th, the sidewalk that is located on the west side of Taylor Road, between Plaza Drive and Main Street (Walgreens block), will be closed, while the City undertakes a pilot project to grow healthier trees within the sidewalk grates throughout the Town Center Area. The City has struggled with maintaining healthy trees in this streetscape setting.
This project includes the removal of the sidewalk, the existing trees, and a greater depth of subsoil. A structural soil is then used to replace the inadequate base soil, before the trees and sidewalk are replaced.
This project is partially funded by a Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance Grant (TRIM) from the Missouri Department of Conservation. Any questions can be directed to the Department of Public Works at 636-458-0440. Thank you for your patience, while the City makes these beautification improvements in the Town Center!
